What is your role at Parkwind?
I’m responsible for the financial consolidation process, which means that I combine financial data from several business units within an organization and prepare quarterly and annual consolidated IFRS reports. In other words, I report on the consolidated financial health of the company and all of its projects. I’m at the center of many accounting activities, which gives me an overview on how all our projects come together.
What about Parkwind appealed to you?
I believe in a sustainable future and with sustainable energy. We all need to start finding a different way of living and different ways of running businesses. Parkwind supports that green energy future. Parkwind also appealed to me because it invests in people. When I arrived, I didn’t have so much experience in consolidation. Parkwind really trusted in me and gave me the opportunities and responsibilities I have now. They gave me support and tools to become successful at my job. I think this is really something special.
How have you grown at Parkwind?
When I started, I was sometimes thinking how I was going to be able to do everything. But step by step, with all the tools that were available for me, all the people helping, the systems, the International Financial Reporting Standards rules which were introduced to me by consultants, I became more confident. When I look at myself now, and when I looked at myself at that time, I made so much progress – by all the tools available for me and help I received – that now I am confident that I’m able to do this and I’m able to do even more.
What is it like to work at Parkwind?
I think Parkwind is characterized by transparency and openness towards the employees. Everyone is very friendly, and you can talk to all the people within the company. What I also really appreciate is all of our three directors are willing to have a little chat with you. You really feel a part of the organization. I also feel that no one is omitted. Everyone matters, everyone’s job matters. The company invests in the people, their development, and keeping people happy on board.
How do you support Parkwind’s mission of advancing wind energy?
My finance position is a bit of a background position. Yes, we’re sitting in the office, we’re not working on building the turbines, and we’re not on the vessels working hands on. However, I believe that by developing all my knowledge and my position by making consolidation more efficient and more understandable to all readers, I support the finance processes that are key for any business. The mission that Parkwind has needs to be supported by a strong finance team. By becoming the best at what I do, I’m fulfilling the mission because Parkwind is also driven to become the best.
